What is Merged Reality?
Merged Reality ( sometimes referred to as Mixed reality ) is when Virtual Reality and the Internet of Things come together.
VR and IoT share a similar basic philosophy and purpose. Both are about the merging of the physical and digital worlds. Though they approach the task from opposite directions. Where Virtual Reality is about making the digital world seem real, largely through the use of head-mounted displays, the Internet of Things is about making real-world objects manipulable in the digital.
There is a middle ground there, a point where the two technologies intersect to create something entirely new! That's merged reality.
For example, using this technology, with a VR headset on, you could control the whole internet-connected machinery sitting at home.
